The second of a two part series where I explored the concept of man fighting the divine. I illustrated the Iliad, book 5, where Diomedes throws his spear and wounds Aphrodite.

Biblically accurate angels (Isaiah 6:2) depicted with strong contrapposto and dynamic composition. I used rendering and negative space to generate grace and movement. Available on High Gothic Casual.
Scratchboard and blade
As part of a larger project on the Inferno and Dore, I illustrate Dante talking to Cavalcante Cavalcanti on the nature of love, the transcendent, and despair (Inferno, Canto 10). I cut lines into scratchboard to maximize contrast, and while referencing Dore, let me express myself in a unique rendering style.
